Yes, finally my son and his wonderful girlfriend Emily are engaged. I only have a few pictures of them together, this one was taken last summer at our favorite sushi restaurant. They suit each other very well and are very much in love, and we are all so happy. Now is the wedding planning.....and we are very lucky to have my daughter in law to help with that.

Yay!!
Also, I hope Emily didn't develop a rash from the beard-to-shoulder contact that night. :) That darn beard. Also, I can give Patrick a hard time here because he'll never ever read this blog. He hasn't looked at mine once since I started it. I'm not bitter.
But anyway, that's a good photo of them.
Patrick grew that magnificent beard in order to take part in the 27th annual Civil War reinactment of The Battle of Ringgold Gap. Many of you do not know this but Patrick is an avid Civil War buff and really likes to get into character when he participates. That year he was playing the part of Confederate General Patrick Cleburne, known for his robust beard growth and heroic battlefield leadership. It was one of our finest reinactments ever until Patrick (perhaps fueled by the goate)got carried away with his sabre and charged the Union skirmish line, inflicting heavy casualties on nearly half the Volunteer Reinactors from the Army of the Potomac. The 28th gayla was cancelled when the North refused to show for the event, sighting the death of their trumpeter the previous year...
Sincerely,
