Cobb Show Again

More pictures from the Cobb Show.
This is DB our president, she is doing great, and am sure she will have a great year. The rest are the quilts that really caught my eye

Oh, and a correction, we ate at "Sugar Cakes", not "Baby cakes that I said in the last post.

Lost in the Chaos

I have been having a lot of fun these past weeks, latest thing was the every other year, "Cobb Show". It is a wonderful quilt show, with many amazing quilts and lots of vendors selling all kinds of new stuff in quilting. This is 4 of our 8 members of our sewing bee, aren't they gorgeous! Wonderful women and quilters all.

Just acouple of the quilts on display, took tons of pictures, will post more later.

I had to include a picture of dessert. We all had to have it, but it was so rich and filling, we all felt about to burst. Isn't it beautiful, and so decadent and tasty. We had lunch at "Babycakes" on the Square in Marietta. Lunch was delicious, the ride home not so great, but we stopped at Red Hen, like we needed more fabric after the show, but every shop seems to have something we had to have.

It was a wonderful day and next month we are going to The Ga State Fair in Perry, they have a quilt contest there that we will have to check out.
Hopefully, not too long until I post again, but , fun is fun.

backyard revisited

okay this backyard business has been going on since April, and it is almost done...finally

the first two pictures depict how it looked 3 days ago

The next two are how it looks with the grass in. Great, huh? I wanted to include a picture of the inground sprinklers going, but they are still putting in the new sprinkler box.
To think this whole area used to be just trees, and nothing but trees...now we have a backyard...hooray!

Kaleidoscopes

These single kaleidoscopes have become....

These... at the retreat where I had quiet and the ability to concentrate I finally was able to implement the setting I wanted for these lovely blocks. I think it looks pretty striking!

the background color and the stripe work well together. of course block out the light color of my design wall,

See retreats are a good thing, you get so much done

Clare is a model

Clare is spectacular in her new backpack. She will now be able to carry stuff on our walks, like keys, phone, camera, poop bags and of course some water. She loves it, just wishes it were pink,(her signature color)

This is my BFF L, she is so happy to be at our Quilting Retreat over the weekend. There was great food, many other quilters and lots of inspiration. hope we can go back next year

Another Father's Day

This year we tried something new. A Thai restaurant, one that a quilt lady suggested at a bee meeting the week before, and given a great quilt lady endorsement, she said "It was lovely". Who can argue with that, plus it was close and in a new building.
Walking in, there was a very Asian, but somehow homey environment, the staff spoke English and were very nice and helpful.
I had coconut soup, which I love, but this soup had a hot sauce added at the end, not my favorite.
When P and Em walked in, P's nose went up and he said he didn't like Thai food or the way it smelled. Eventually, I had to tell him to suck it up, it was Fathers Day and Dad loves Thai food.

This is B and S cutting up over wearing bifocals, B can look just as nerdy as S, just way younger!!!

This is P not wanting his picture taken. If he could send me some that Em took, I would have better ones for my blog. I will find the best one I can and post it tomorrow.

For some reason, I took too few pics and there are no women in this post, P was off celebrating with her dad, being a good daughter, we missed her.

Most importantly S enjoyed his meal and the company, so it was good.
